The Walkerton Agricultural Society – Walkerton’s Little Royal Fair!

The Walkerton Agricultural Society is home to the Walkerton Little Royal Fair held each year in October.

The Walkerton Agricultural Society encourages an awareness of agriculture and promotes improvements of persons living in the agricultural community.

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

“Home for the Harvest”

The Walkerton Little Royal Fair continues to be a proud tradition in our community, celebrating agriculture, youth involvement, and rural heritage. Each year, the fair brings together exhibitors, volunteers, families, and visitors who share a passion for agriculture and community spirit.  I anticipate this year to be no exception.

The fair will continue to offer a variety of activities and events that create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for all ages. From educational displays to family-friendly entertainment, the fair remains an important opportunity to connect our agricultural community with the public.

I invite you to attend and visit the Field to Fork displays, enjoy the hard work our exhibitors have put into their wonderful entries, and sit down to enjoy the delicious food from our food booth. Of course, you won’t want to miss the Saddle Horse Show on Saturday or the Heavy and Light Horse Show on Sunday.  Our youth are also invited to bring their teddy bear to the Teddy Bear Show and their beloved pets to take part in the Pet Show.

None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our volunteers. The countless hours dedicated by committee members, judges, sponsors, and community partners are the foundation of the Walkerton Little Royal Fair.  Your time, energy, and commitment ensure that this event continues to grow and thrive. On behalf of the Society, I would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s fair such a success.

I would also like to thank our generous sponsors and supporters. Their contributions help us provide opportunities for young people, maintain agricultural awareness in the community and continue the traditions the Walkerton Little Royal Fair is known for.

As we look ahead to the coming year, we remain committed to strengthening our fair, encouraging youth involvement, and celebrating the agricultural roots that make our community unique. We would love for you to join us and become a part of this amazing society and its mission. If you are interested in getting involved, please reach out to become a member and help us continue to build our legacy.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the fair and being “Home for the Harvest”.  Your support keeps the spirit of the Walkerton Little Royal Fair alive.

2024-2025 Fair Ambassadors

Jr.Ambassador
Adelynn Ernest

I was so honoured to be chosen as the Junior Ambassador representing the Walkerton Agricultural Society for 2024-2025. To achieve this
honour, I successfully wrote a resume and was interviewed by three judges.

Last October, I spent the entire weekend at the Little Royal Fair. My favourite part was judging the pet show. I handed out ribbons at the horse shows. I was given a ride on a three hitch unicorn rig. That was exciting! During this weekend I was given many opportunities to introduce myself and speak in public.

Later in October, I attended the fall District 10 meeting at Rocklynn. At this meeting, I met many other Society Ambassadors. During this meeting, we learned about finding our voices and not to be nervous talking in front of crowds. This has really helped me with my public speaking. I met many new friends that day. I hope to see them all again
at the spring District 10 meeting which is being held in Wiarton. As Ambassador, I had the opportunity to represent the Walkerton Agricultural Society in the Walkerton Santa Claus parade. All the little children were amazed to see us on our float. I saw many family, friends and people I knew which brought a smile to my face. Representing the Walkerton Agricultural Society has been a great experience and I recommend to all youth to consider to run for the Walkerton little Royal Ambassadors.

Fair Ambassador
Madison Hopcraft

Hello, my name is Madison Hopcraft, and I have received the honor of being the 2024-2025 Senior Ambassador of the Walkerton Agricultural Society.

This has been an amazing experience to be a part of the Walkerton agriculture society and to make new connections and meet lots of people. I have experienced new friendships and have gained so much knowledge by being a part of this group. I cannot wait for the next ambassador to step out of their comfort zone and begin their journey into the agriculture scene.

The best part of my experience was the Walkerton Fall Fair. The fair is something that everyone looks forward to and is something that can be enjoyed by all ages. I am so excited to see more activities and fun things that will happen at the fair, including our traditions.

I hope to see lots of people to keep coming to the fair and support our local farmers and to keep asking questions and staying curious about the world around us.
